Broadcom Inc.has enhanced its VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, support digital sovereignty, and bolster cybersecurity for organizations. It introduced new VCF Advanced Services, expanded partnerships, and a Private Cloud Modernization Program to enhance generative AI capabilities, cyber resilience, and secure cloud adoption.
Krish Prasad, SVP and GM of VCF at Broadcom, emphasized that VCF’s private cloud infrastructure enables organizations to harness AI, strengthen resilience, and address privacy and digital sovereignty. VCF offers the scale and agility of public clouds while maintaining the security and control of a private cloud, supporting multi-environment deployment across data centers, hyperscale clouds, and the edge.
VCF for Advanced Cybersecurity and AI Services
The company unveiled VMware Tanzu Data Services for VCF to improve data management and security, essential for AI applications. Tanzu simplifies deployment and management of databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL, providing automated lifecycle management and ensuring data security.
VMware Live Recovery now supports Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) as an Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE) for disaster recovery, ensuring seamless security for workloads. VMware vDefend’s new GenAI-based co-pilot feature aids in cyber resilience by reducing false positives and enhancing situational awareness for security teams.
The company’s Private AI strategy emphasizes secure, adaptable AI services. Through a partnership with Microsoft, Broadcom now supports Azure AI Video Indexer on VMware Cloud Foundation, enabling video and audio analysis using generative AI. This integration helps organizations deploy AI solutions flexibly across their environments.
Expanded Private Cloud Modernization and Certification
Broadcom is enhancing its Private Cloud Modernization Program, with the new VMware Certified Professional – VCF Architect certification focusing on designing secure, scalable VCF solutions. Broadcom also offers a Private Cloud Maturity and Optimization tool for partners, allowing them to assess customer needs and enhance private cloud services.
VMware Cloud Service Providers (VCSPs) now offer VCF-based sovereign cloud services, with robust compliance and privacy features. This expansion supports digital sovereignty by ensuring that data remains under customer control, further meeting regional regulations and standards.
