Red Hat has announced a new platform today to upgrade mobile experience. Called Red Hat Mobile Application Platform, the containerised offering has been designed to run on Red Hat supported infrastructures and let developers scale their mobile apps.

The containerised platform opens new possibilities for integration of modern application development practices. Businesses can innovate and respond to changing needs of digital enterprises with new generation development tools. Also, these tools support DevOps and agile processes.

“Red Hat offers organisations a powerful stack, based on these modern technologies, to develop, integrate, deploy and manage mobile applications alongside traditional workloads running in this portable cloud-agnostic containerised environment,” said Cathal McGloin, vice president of mobile platforms, Red Hat, in a statement.

The Red Hat platform is based on Kubernetes and docker-format containers. It also enables deployments on OpenShift to create a common platform that helps developers support mobile workloads running with their enterprise applications. Further, Red Hat has provided support for on-premise deployment to meet customers’ specific requirements on mobile solutions.

Alongside the mobile-centric development, Red Hat announced workforce management (WFM) module based on FeedHenry Raincatcher project. The module is presently available as a tech preview and let developers working on Node.js and JavaScript leverage its power to speed up the creation of mobile workforce management solutions.
