An end-to-end solution for secure mobile communication and collaboration combines a mobile phone, a hardened operating system, and pre-installed applications.

VNC has introduced VNCphone, a secure solution for professional mobile work. This new offering addresses the need for privacy and security, spanning hardware, operating systems, platforms, and application modules. The current market is dominated by solutions with questionable security practices, often transmitting sensitive data to unknown recipients without user consent. The company provides a secure alternative with an integrated system that ensures end-to-end security, from device hardware to platform independence. This includes the VNClagoon OS, a Google-free Android operating system, and an optional VPN.

The hardware for VNCphone is based on the Volla Phone, manufactured in Germany, and features dual-boot capability, allowing users to choose between VNClagoon OS, Ubuntu Touch, or Google Android. This makes it suitable for COPE (Corporate Owned – Personally Enabled) scenarios, where company-provided devices can also be used privately. It comes with the modular software stack VNClagoon preinstalled. Users can activate applications like VNCtalk, VNCmail, VNCproject, and VNCtask via subscription on the VNC website, enabling immediate mobile collaboration.

Andrea Wörrlein, managing director of VNC in Berlin and board member of VNC AG in Zug, stated, “With VNCphone, there is finally a completely secure package for professional mobile communication and collaboration.” This solution is ideal for use in environments where security is critical, such as public and government institutions, critical infrastructures, and security-sensitive companies. This marks a significant step toward secure mobile working, providing a robust alternative to existing solutions that compromise user privacy and data security.
