According to a report by Techcrunch, Microsoft announced a public preview of Microsoft Teams for Linux. It is the first Office 365 tool that has been made available by the company for the open-source operating system.

As per the report, by making it available for preview, the company aims to get feedback from the community and improve it before making it generally available. In a blog announcing the release, the company said that the preview will enable high quality collaboration experiences for the open source community at work and in educational institutions.
The company also added that the most of its customers have devices running on a variety of different platforms like Windows 10, Linux and others. It added that the company is dedicated to support mixed environments across cloud and productivity offerings.
