The first training under this initiative will be on ‘LaTeX’ and ‘Software Testing’ and it will be held from July 8, 2019.
The International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS), an autonomous institution under the Kerala Government, is organising intensive trainings on various free software domains for women with career breaks.
Titled ‘Back to Work’, the initiative aims to empower a large number of ambitious and talented women, who remain outside the workforce owing to marriage, motherhood, local constraints and family commitments, to restart their career in various free software domains.
The first training under this initiative will be on ‘LaTeX’ and ‘Software Testing’ and it will be held from July 8, 2019 at Sports Hub, Karyavattom in Thiruvananthapuram.
Graduates with prior experience in typesetting, scientific documentation and Software Testing and have a career gap can apply for this training.
ICFOSS encourages women to contribute more to technology
For the past few years, ICFOSS has been conducting various women empowerment programmes like ‘Women Hackathon’ and ‘Winter School for Women’ for building confidence in them and helping them contribute more to technology.
A maximum of 30 seats are available for each batch of training (eight days each). Last date of application is June 29. There will be a registration fee for Rs 500 for the programme.
