As a result of Oracle Autonomous Database’s autonomous functionality, many early adopters have started realising instant business benefits

Oracle India announced that many Indian companies are realising the huge business value from their data, by using the Oracle Autonomous Database – the first ‘self-driving, self-securing and self-repairing’ database for the industry.

Incorporated with deeper and more meaningful insights, these organisations have been able to considerably improve and fast-track their business decisions, introduce new products & services to market faster and generate a smarter workforce.

Instant business benefits

As a result of Oracle Autonomous Database’s autonomous functionality, many early adopters have started realising instant business benefits such as faster transaction processing, enhanced customer experiences and more accurate sales forecasts. It also helped the clients in strengthening organisation’s security fabric to help automatically prevent against data thefts and cyber-threats.

Shailender Kumar, Regional Managing Director, Oracle India, said, “In the last 12 months, our customers have rewired their organisational DNA to transform into a digital-first, data-driven business. They are freeing up resources to focus more on innovation.”

“To put their data capital to better use and strengthen their core competencies, we’re helping them upgrade to the technology of tomorrow, today. Autonomous software will be the next big growth lever for businesses,” he added.

Useful for many industries

Oracle Autonomous Database is used by organisations across diverse industries like banking, digital commerce, consulting, IT and professional services, as well as unconventional sectors such as spices and footwear.

Shalini Warrier, COO, Federal Bank, said, “By performing ATM Analytics on Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, we uploaded only aggregate data pertaining to ATM performance metrics, in line with our compliance guidelines around data privacy and security. In just under four weeks, we had an intuitive, user-friendly solution with full drill-down and roll-up capabilities. This empowered our senior leaders with actionable intelligence for faster decision making.”

“We’re now looking to enhancing the scope with social media content for better sentiment analysis and a more holistic understanding of our customers,” Warrier said.

With Oracle Autonomous Database, big enterprises, small and medium businesses (SMBs), and born-in-the-cloud startups are optimising their resources, enhancing their competitive edge and creating hyper-personalised consumer engagement strategies.

Performance improvement

Bangalore-based ecommerce software product company – Codeinks, is one such start-up.

Manish Verma, Cofounder & CEO, Codeinks, said, “Our customers are demanding faster, deeper, more accurate insights from us, but most database technologies aren’t fast enough to handle such heavy-duty analytics workloads for real-time reporting. We used Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse out of the box, and we realised an average performance improvement in the range of 30-50 per cent for our defined scenarios.”

Verma further said, “We were able to quickly create dashboards in near-real time to capture the results of what-if analysis around a range of factors including session data looking at user interactions in a particular timeframe or around particular tasks.”

By leveraging Oracle Autonomous Database, chief information officers (CIOs) are able to drive their organisations out of the maintenance mode and to quicken innovation. The customers of Oracle have the liberty of using the same database in the cloud, on premises or with Cloud at Customer, simplifying the transition of existing, mission-critical applications.
