The good news for Apple Lisa operating system in 2018 is that it will be made open source. The announcement gives anyone the opportunity to download the code.
The info was shared in a post made in a Google Group dedicated to the fans and enthusiasts of Lisa OS. The Computer History Museum (CHM) will be releasing the code with a statement of its own in the near future.
The ‘CHM’ will provide the code to download in 2018. Anyone can download and play with it for free, a big contrast to the Apple Lisa’s original 1983 cost of $10,000.
The Lisa computer was followed by the Macintosh in 1984. Apple did introduce additional versions of the Lisa computer at a lower price tag, but it ultimately succumbed in few short years after its introduction. Read more..
