Audacity, a popular open source audio editing software, has received a significant update. The new version, dubbed Audacity 2.2.0, comes supplied with four pre-configured, user-selectable themes. This enables you to choose the look and feel for Audacity’s interface. It is also getting playback support for MIDI files, and better organised menus.
Special Features:
- Playback of MIDI (Allegro) files imported into Note Tracks is available.
- Around 198 bugs are fixed in this newly released version.
- The most serious bug fixed this time round was bug 437 which was about what happens when Audacity is recording and runs out of storage.
- Its, linux support is tested on Ubuntu linux.
- Audacity may compile on Gentoo, Debian, Mint, but does not currently compile on SuSE Linux.
