Linksys WRT1900ACS in India

Linksys has brought its popular open source Wi-Fi router WRT1900ACS to India. The new offering is specifically targeted at home users and business professionals with AC1900 Wi-Fi speeds.

The Linksys WRT1900ACS comes with a 1.6GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of DDR3 RAM. The built-in dual-band wireless-AC technology on the router is touted to be 4.3 times faster than traditional N technology and is capable of delivering speeds of up to 600 Mbps at a 2.4GHz frequency and 1300 Mbps at 5GHz. Also, the hardware includes four external, adjustable antennas that boost Wi-Fi signal strength in multi-level buildings.

Linksys has provided native support for external storage devices. There are interfaces including eSATA, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports that transform the router into a network storage server.

Free to customisations

One thing that makes the Linksys WRT1900ACS a distinguished model in its range is the compatibility with open source solutions. The device enables customisations through OpenWRT router firmware.

Users can use the provided Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app along with the Wi-Fi router to remotely monitor and control their network. The app offers a network map to provides the users with a precise view.

The Linksys WRT1900ACS dual-band Wi-Fi router is available in the Indian market through online and offline stores.
