RaspAnd, an operating system for Raspberry Pi devices, has received a new update that adds Android 7.1.1 Nougat to your Raspberry Pi 2 and Pi 3 devices. The latest RaspAnd Nougat 7.1.1 build 170127 additionally includes Kodi 17.0 RC4 media center.
The presence of Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes preloaded with Google Apps (GApps) package version 17012. It gives direct access to the latest Play Services 10.2.91, Play Store 7.4.12 and the official Google app version 6.10.37.21. You can also use Aptoide App Store 8.0.2 on the platform to install Android apps on the go.
Apart from the fresh Android, the new RaspAnd build has a Kodi media centre to offer rich YouTube performance. Kodi is optimised to work efficiently on RapsAnd. You can enable all the supported add-ons of Kodi as well.
The RaspAnd Nougat 7.1.1 build also includes a list of pre-installed apps. There is Mozilla Firefox 51.0, Spotify 1.0.0, AIDA64 1.44 utility, Rotation Control Pro 1.1.9, ES File Explorer Pro 1.0.8 and SnapTube 4.11.0.8.8655 downloader.
It is worth noting that the YouTube app which comes preloaded with the RaspAnd operating system is capable of playing audio but not the video. However, you can use the available Kodi media centre lets you enjoy YouTube experience.
You need to spend $9 to get the complete RaspAnd package for your Raspberry Pi. The platform has partial support for Raspberry 2 due to some hardware limitations.
