Weeks after launching its 4.9 version, Linus Torvalds has now brought the first release candidate (RC) for Linux 4.10. The latest kernel build is not as big as the last release but has several bug fixes and improvements.

“On the whole, this was not that big a release — nothing like 4.9. Although it was not tiny either,” Torvalds writes in a community email.

The Linux 4.10 RC1 mainly comprises of driver upgrades and several documentation updates. Also, there are some perf tooling updates and architecture improvements.

One of the notable change that the latest Linux release brings over the previous one is the better support for AMD Radeon graphics. This would please some gamers on the open source platform.

Developers can download the RC1 of Linux 4.10 directly through the official kernel.org website. Moreover, this new development has closed the merge window for the upcoming kernel and enabled a testing platform ahead of its final release.
