Canonical has announced Kubernetes 1.5.1 for Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus). The distribution brings fully supported CNI for Charms, CNI based SDN apps and advanced debug features.
The new version of Canonical’s native Kubernetes release includes a lot of new features and bugfixes. The pure upstream model helps power users take maximum out of Kubernetes offerings. Also, SDN-based apps like Calico and Weave and improved actions for kubernetes-worker and kubernetes-master Charms are major additions to the latest version.
It is worth noting that this upstream Canonical distribution is easily deployable on a public cloud, on-premise infrastructure and developer machines. Canonical has included PPAs to the Kubernetes release to upgrade the experience.
The Ubuntu 16.04 LTS users can install the latest release of Kubernetes on their systems. It can be deployed on an Ubuntu machine using terminal commands.
