Acer has expanded its all-in-one desktop (AiO) line with the new Aspire C Series. The new desktop models bring Linux platform to AiO form-factor that has so far been dominated by Microsoft’s Windows.

The Acer Aspire C Series comes in two different screen options — 23.8- and 21.5-inch full-HD display panels. There is Fedora-based Linpus Linux to offer open source capabilities alongside a high-performing hardware that has up to sixth-generation of Intel Core i3 processor with Intel HD Graphics 520 and 8GB of DDR4 RAM. Also, the system has 1TB of 5400RPM hard drive.

For connectivity, the latest AiO offering has two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports as well as advanced wireless solutions such as Bluetooth 4.0 LE and 802.11ac. The device also comes equipped with two speakers and a 1MP HD webcam.

Linux presence on the new Aspire C Series allows developers to test their apps on large screens and even build some new ones with ease. Moreover, open source power can also be experienced from the large view.

The Acer Aspire C Series will be available in the US with a starting price of $449. It will be bundled with a limited one-year warranty.
