Canonical is set to release Ubuntu Touch OTA-14 for smartphones and tablets. The new Ubuntu Touch version will reach compatible devices starting December 5.
“Due to the current schedule and timing, we’ll have to wait till the end of next week for these to finish. This means that the current ETA for the new update is the 5-6th of December,” Canonical software engineer Lukasz Zemczak wrote in a community email.
Canonical has already released some system images to test the next Ubuntu Touch update ahead of its formal release. The new platform would come with a new task manager to enhance experience across smartphones and tablets. Besides, it is likely to include various bug fixes and performance improvements.
The upgraded Ubuntu Touch will debut a couple of months following the OTA-13 release.
