Sundar Pichai has become the chief executive of internet search engine giant Google and he has a lot to deal with, but it is Android that remains his favourite, it seems. Pichai, during his three-day visit to India, announced that the company has plans to train as many as two million Android developers across the globe.
He was speaking at the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). While addressing the audience, Google’s CEO said, “As per the new plan (by Google), we will train two million Android developers in partnership with 30 universities. This will be done over the time period of next three years.” “For me, getting many developers in the workforce are going to solve many new things,” he added.
Pichai also expressed excitement about the public WiFi project. He said, “It is the largest (such) project in the world wherein 400 railway stations will get Wi-Fi internet.”
“The reason we are doing it is that in India when you bring access to internet it changes lives of people,” Pichai asserted.
