It has been scientifically proven that breaks at regular intervals increase productivity and there could be no better game (other than Desktop Towers Defense) other than Pingus to fit into that bracket. What more, Pingus is so addictive that it definitely manages to keep you rooted to your seat, scenario after scenario.

Linux Game Review: Glest

Glest is a 3D realtime strategy game (or RTS) set in a sort of pseudo medieval Europe. The game, as of version 2, features two factions, Tech and Magic. Each faction also has their own unit types, buildings and tech tree (ie more stuff to do later). As typical with RTS games there are resources to gather and mine.

Linux Game Review: Chromium BSU

While it is just another classic overhead-scrolling space shooter, it is a game with a twist. You can not let any of the alien ships past you; each one will cost you a life. Moreover, the ammunition is also limited. This is what makes the game very challenging, almost impossible.

Linux Game Review: Armagetron Advanced

The idea is simple. You have to keep building walls and outrun your opponent by not bumping into either your wall or your opponents. While the game has options of playing against the bot, the game truely shines when it is played against a number of human players (LAN or online).

Hedgewars is multiplatform, a free turn-based blast-em-up in the vein of Worms. It features a wide range of weapons, multiple maps, and excellent graphics and audio. Offers single player, multiplayer, and (in theory) multiplayer over the internet modes.
