TCS IT education programme

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is set to bring its education programme goIT to 190,000 high schools across São Paulo. To fulfill the objective, the Indian firm has signed a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian state.

TCS is deploying its digital learning platform Campus Commune as a part of the new programme. In addition to students, around 4,000 teachers will be trained in the state, and TCS’ technologists will be delivering content in person to enhance the existing education sector. The Mumbai-headquartered company is ultimately aimed to build an app that will help local businesses through teacher-students’ efforts.

São Paulo is a highly potential market for TCS in Latin America, where it generated US$269 million of quarterly revenues in the first quarter of 2017, increased over 14 percent in the same quarter last year. The pilot success of the new programme would even help the company to look for other developing markets over time.

Students so far spent over 100,000 hours

Since its launch in 2009, TCS’ goIT has engaged more than 10,000 students and provided more than 100,000 hours of high-impact skill building for students. The programme offers hands-on technology education to middle and high school students to help them attain STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.
