Google is all set to enable some major advancements in the embedded engineering by bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to your ultra-cheap Raspberry Pi. The single-board computer is already the leading development from Britain and surpassed the mark of 10 million sales just last year.

To begin the action, Google has started a survey for Pi makers. The survey is asking the makers about what AI features they want on their tiny computers.

“We at Google are interested in creating smart tools for makers, and want to hear from you about what would be most helpful,” Google’s team writes on the survey page.

You can select areas such as home automation, drones, IoT, robotics and even 3D printing and machine learning.

“Google is going to arrive in style in 2017. The tech titan has exciting plans for the maker community. It intends to make a range of smart tools available this year,” the Raspberry Foundation says in a blog post.

Leader supporting the community

Google is one of the leading players in the emerging world of AI. It brought some major developments including Google Assistant in the recent past. Also, the search giant’s parent company Alphabet is maintaining DeepMind, one of the major acquisitions, to enhance its AI practices.

All this would help the community receive AI features on Raspberry Pi. These would not be limited to face recognition and voice detection but is also likely to extend to speech-to-text translation and natural language processing.
