OpenSUSE has released a new version of its Tumbleweed Linux distribution. The updated platform is based on Linux 4.7.5 kernel and features GNOME 3.22 desktop environment.

The kernel 4.7.5 includes updated drivers and brings several improvements over the previous Linux version on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. There is also OpenSSL 1.0.2j security fix to deliver a secure experience.

Apart from some significant core-system changes, the latest OpenSUSE Tumbleweed comes preloaded with Mozilla Firefox 49.0.1 as well as offers apps like KDE Plasma 5.8, FreeType 2.7, Qt 5.7, Mono 4.6 and Bash 4.4. The operating system also has Mesa 12.0.3 3D graphics library and OSTree 2016.10 tool.

Especially for developers, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed now has xf86 updates for XServer, GStreamer plugins and Perl language support along with an updated fonts-config. Some major bug fixes and performance improvements are additionally available to enhance the user experience.

You need to keep your OpenSUSE Tumbleweed up to date to receive all the new features. Some of the changes will be available gradually over time.
