Mirantis has announced the acquisition of Czech Republic’s TCP Cloud. This new deal is aimed to enhance managed services for OpenStack and bring OpenStack closer to Kubernetes.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. But Mirantis has asserted the addition of TCP Cloud’s in-house technology MK.20 to its OpenStack offering. Also, MK.20 will become a part of Mirantis’ Fuel software to let its clients deploy and manage OpenStack and related open source infrastructure software.

“Mirantis empowers enterprises to embrace the new, continuously delivered infrastructure model on their terms. TCP Cloud’s technology and expertise helps us accelerate that vision,” said Alex Freedland, Mirantis CEO, in a statement.

Mirantis is set to leverage the resources of TCP Cloud to extend the support for its recent initiative with Google and Intel. That partnership was targeted to integrate OpenStack and Kubernetes into a single platform to fulfill enterprise-level cloud requirements.

“The integration of OpenStack and Kubernetes simplifies deployment and expands enterprise cloud capability,” said Jonathan Donaldson, vice president of Software Defined Infrastructure at Intel. “Mirantis’ acquisition of TCP Cloud provides a major step forward towards our joint goal of delivering this breakthrough open SDI stack to the market.”

Prague-based TCP Cloud has a workforce of 30 people who work together to develop managed services for OpenStack, OpenContrail and Kubernetes. The company mainly runs its business around managing infrastructure-as-a-code that might be the next enterprise structure after IaaS, SaaS and PaaS.
